Greetings to you all!
I have good news – that after a suspension of activities for far too long, the Saskatoon/N. Saskatchewan branch is being revived under  the leadership of your new Branch Chairman, James Hawkes.

James,  21, is a resident of Saskatoon and a 4th year student at the  University of Saskatchewan, pursuing a double honours degree  in History & Classical, Mediæval and Renaissance   Studies, and is minoring in Political  Studies.    A  committed monarchist since childhood, he feels excited by the challenge to play  a role in strengthening the institution that is the heart of Canada. He can be  contacted at jameshawkes5@[removespamfilter!]gmail.com or northsaskmonarchist@[Removespamfilter!]gmail.com

League  Branches seek to advance the policies and programs of the League in their areas.  How this can be done involves a mix of those national objectives  interpreted and carried forward in ways that reflect the resources, leadership  and particular interest of members.

James  is going to be a capable leader. But he cannot undertake the work  alone.  If you would like to assist him, please get in touch and let  him know something about yourself, and your monarchical bent and priorities.  Some folk have experience in communications, some would love to form a phone  tree, some come from an educational background, others want to help “wherever  I’m needed.”

One  immediate and positive, attention-getting and media-friendly activity could  centre on the imminent birth of the Cambridges’ first child, a future  Monarch of Canada, and the possibility of the Branch and/or a number of  members’ holding a Royal Baby Shower along the lines outlined in a recent  email to members. You can see the special page on our website (which will become  the front page after the birth) at www.monarchist.ca/en/baby2013

We  look forward to supporting James with Dominion’s experience and resources;  we know that he will look forward to working with your talents, enthusiasm and  loyalty to revive the fine work begun by N. M. some years ago.
